Performer

Alex has a wealth of experience in several areas of performance, notably as a conductor, as an organist and as accompanist on piano, organ and harpsichord.

For over ten years he has regularly conducted choirs of all sizes, age-groups and ability-levels, and he relishes the challenge of discovering a fresh interpretation of the music with each choir. Alex has also demonstrated his skill directing contemporary music ensembles in complex new scores.

As an organist, Alex plays the new £500,000 Mander organ at St Peter's Church, St Albans, having previously held organ scholarships at St Albans Cathedral and Jesus College, Oxford. He regularly performs in churches around the country as a soloist and accompanist, and as a guest organist at weddings, funerals and other services. Alex is also often called upon as a piano accompanist for rehearsals, concerts, music exams and auditions.

He is much in demand as a teacher of piano, organ, music theory, harmony & counterpoint, and composition from beginner to university level. He is also available to lead workshops, lectures and study days.

If you would like to discuss booking Alex for any of the above, please send him a message via the contact page.
